Your own facebook social network
Have you heard of Facebook? It is a social network for mostly college aged people. Of course others use it as well and some make lots of money by creating applications for members to use. It has become even MORE popular than MySpace and received an investment of 100’s of millions of dollars by Microsoft. Facebook allows users to connect with friends, share applications such as games, videos, and notes, and keep track of what each other is doing by way of a ‘newsfeed’.
As a product developer, I am always looking for either a shortcut to get an idea to market or something to develop that I can sell. Some people would love to have their own social network.
For me, though, a Facebook clone is way too complicated and time intensive. But having a starter for your own social network aspirations may be what you are looking for. Something to note, though, as of this writing Facebook is still NOT profitable.
Don’t let that stop you though, if you have a great idea. Sites around the world that are clones of or similar to Facebook have sold for big bucks. Either they had lots of eyeballs attracted to these sites that the buyer wanted access to or they were for a specific niche or ethnicity that the buyer wanted to capture.
Here is the link. [ Facebook Clone ] At $297, it sure beats $100 Million.
