Links to Affiliate Programs
In a project I am doing, I am working with some affiliate programs. In the affiliate world, there are advertisers and publishers. Advertisers are the ones who have ads or products for sale on these affiliate networks. Publishers are those with websites or other systems where those affiliate ads will appear. When working with affiliate programs, you are generally working as a publisher and trying to get appropriate advertisements to appear in your webpages.
While there are literally hundreds or thousands of these affiliate networks around, there are a few that are fairly common, and of those, I thought I would post some links and notes below:
Google Adsense: URL: http://www.google.com/adsense
Fairly simple program that allows contextual text ads, video, graphic and I think even audio ads. Pretty straigh forward - just apply, get a key, select and generate the code block desired, paste onto your site.
Amazon Affiliate Program: URL: http://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/join
This program offers immediate acceptance. You will receive a small code that you can place into an Amazon url to get credit. You can get profits to your bank account, by check, or credit toward Amazon.
Amazon Developer Program: URL: http://aws.amazon.com/register
This is NOT an affiliate program but a program that allows you to use scripting to search Amazon and return results with your affiliate code. Nice for returning dynamic results. You will get a developer key here.
Ebay Affiliate Program: URL: http://affiliates.ebay.com/
Ebay runs their own affiliate program now. This took 3 weeks to get accepted for. Many people are rejected, but use a real website focused on a niche and I think that will work. You will get several IDs here: TrackingPartnerCode (usually the number 9), TrackingID/CampaignID (10 digit number) and you can an optionally add a tracking/CustomId. You will need to complete an online W9 and fill out payment & tax information once accepted.

Like the Amazon program, this program gives you a key to use scripting or widgets to search Ebay portals around the world or Half.com and get results with affiliate urls.
Commission Junction: URL: https://signup.cj.com/member/publisherSignUp.do
CJ offers immediate approval into the basic program. You then need to sign up for specific offers and affiliates and be approved by them.
Clickbank: URL: https://www.clickbank.com/accountSignup.htm
This is an affiliate program that pays well if someone buys from the link you set up. Clickbank handles download or virtual products only. You can even sell your own products here (for an initial fee). Clickbank has thousands of products in different categories. Linking is very simple.
