Finding ideas for products
As a product developer, I usually lack time more than I lack ideas. But sometimes I want to see what else is out there. There are several reasons for this. First, I want to see what is new out there to keep up with trends. Second, I may be able to incorporate some idea I find into an existing product I am working on or at least find a way to add value without adding complication. Third, I might just find something I want or need - information, domain name, or just plain inspiration.
There are several places I keep tabs on, but one of my favorite places to look, and sometimes pick up a quick bargain, is Ebay.
Here are a few searches I do regularly: (pay extra attention to items with bids)
- How To (2 words) Great for product ideas
- Howto (one word)
- Business for sale See websites, and real businesses for sale
- Domain Names
- 3 letter domain names Great finds for cheap
- eBook (one word) Good for informational product ideas
- e Book (2 words)
I am sure you can think of more, but these are some that I really like. I use them for ideas, and especially look to see what people are bidding on.
