Niche Finder – making money with affiliates

Recently, (as mentioned here) I had been working on building a system to grab data from Youtube, Ebay, and Amazon based on a keyword entered.

See example here Infomercials on tv reviewed .

I finally had some time to port it over to the blog. Had some difficulty with plugin hooks and filters (is there ANY good place that has good code snippets for these things?).

The idea is that when I reference a certain subject, I can put a link to it and have others see a much more rounded view of the subject – videos, ads, and products from Amazon and Ebay.

Anyway, you can see a few examples here: Domain Parking, Fantasy Sports, and maybe something I can use: WordPress Plugin help.

I still need to build up the admin portion to enter in affiliate ids and developer keys as mentioned in a previous article (urls for affiliate id and keys) before it is releasable as a plugin.

Making money with domain parking

I own many domains. Some I have had for years, some I have recently purchased. Most I purchased while working on a project. Often, after spending some initial time and money to research a product, I decide that I am either no longer interested, or convinced that my time and effort are not going to pay off in a way I might hope.

That leaves me with a lot of domains to manage or host somewhere. So how can I monetize dormant domains? Currently I have many of my domains parked. There are quite a few domain parking sites/systems out there and I have toyed with creating my own. The parking site I am currently testing is [read more ...]

Links to Affiliate Programs

In a project I am doing, I am working with some affiliate programs. In the affiliate world, there are advertisers and publishers. Advertisers are the ones who have ads or products for sale on these affiliate networks. Publishers are those with websites or other systems where those affiliate ads will appear. When working with affiliate programs, you are generally working as a publisher and trying to get appropriate advertisements to appear in your webpages.

While there are literally hundreds or thousands of these affiliate networks around, there are a few that are fairly common, and of those, I thought I would post some links and notes below: [read more ...]

Lifestyle vs lifestyle entrepreneur

Life can be expensive. Mortgage or rent, groceries, gasoline, utilities, health/car/life insurance, etc add up to a lot of money. The entrepreneur has two core resources – time and money. Some of you may also have connections and other resources, but the first two tend to be the main currency of the entrepreneur.

Depending on where you live and how lavish a lifestyle you choose, you may require more money to make ends meet. For the employed or early stage entrepreneur, you trade a lot of your time at a job to make more money. That means you have less time to pursue your own ventures.

But, if you have a choice, you may be able to change your lifestyle or [read more ...]
